Where to park: Parking is in a wide area on Pumping Station Road, either on the left or right just before a gate, which, if open, would allow you to drive through the river. The GPS for the spot is: 34.53089, -83.433694. What I didn’t realize was that I could have walked from where I parked for Tabor Creek Falls, and it probably would have taken about the same amount of time to hike the 1.1 miles as it took to drive all the way around.

The hike: The hike starts by heading past the gate and wading the river, which was ankle deep on my visit. Once you are across, head into the woods on the left, looking for the makings of a trail. It took some doing to find it close to the river, but once we were on it, it was easy to follow. That may change as the ground cover fills in over the summer. There is a ridge line off to the right, so really all you have to do is keep it there to find the falls. The trail will lead to a crossing after a bend in the creek, and from there, you’re only a few feet from the base of the falls. Super easy hike and a really nice waterfall. Hiking Tabor Creek Falls and then hiking down to this one would be the way I would approach it in the future, unless the gates were open.
