NOTE: This is another waterfall that I’m including for the sake of documentation, not to encourage visitation. Indian Ford Falls is not a secret.
Indian Ford Falls is spectacular, and getting to it is nearly impossible. It is on Rock Creek between Rock Creek Falls and Sky Falls, making this one of the most incredible stretches of creek, and one of the hardest to access. Indian Ford Falls is just downstream of Little Indian Ford Falls, which is split from Indian Ford Falls by a small stretch of flat water. The problem is getting from Little Indian Ford Falls to the base of Indian Ford Falls. A lot could go wrong getting down there, and I’m not willing to even suggest a route. The best I can do is get you to Rock Creek Falls. From there, it’s way too sketchy.
Where to park: You want to plan this approach when the gate is open on Canebrake Road, where it intersects Horsepasture Road in Jocassee Gorges. There is a wide area where the road makes a left-hand turn, where we parked to start the hike. The GPS for that spot is: 35.05498, -82.87663.
The hike: See 1084 – Rock Creek Falls to get close.
