Where to park: The parking for the Waterfall on Tobes Creek is on Waterville Road just after the turn from Tobes Creek Road. This is the point where the AT comes out of the woods and takes to the road to get to the other side of I-40. The GPS is 35.78422, -83.11364.
The hike: The Appalachian Trail heads into the woods on a series of steps. The AT intersects Tobes Creek 0.2 miles from the road at the base of the waterfall. For something not marked on any maps, it’s really nice. I listed it as in the Smokies, even though it is a mile outside the park boundary.
