Why the crappy picture? Well, one of the problems I faced while working on the Smokies 800-miler was how little time I had to stop and explore some of the things I passed. Way back when I was working on the KA500 List, I came in to Enloe Creek Falls from the Hyatt Ridge Trail. This meant that the remainder of the Enloe Creek trail from Enloe Creek Falls to Chasteen Creek needed to he hiked. You don’t really think that hiking from Chasteen Creek Falls over by Smokemont to Enloe Creek Falls as a thing, but it is, and when I came back to nab this upper section of the trail that I spotted the upper falls. The problem was daylight. My hike took place in November and was plotted at 26 miles, not leaving a lot of time to climb down and explore this waterfall. It was tempting, but it was a good thing I didn’t since my walk through Smokemont CG at the end was in the dark.

See 544 – Enloe Creek Falls for hike details.
