New and Improved Falls is a 25 foot slide, tucked in a dark corner. It is located about 0.1 of a hiking mile above Just Like New Falls. The falls are close together but it is so ungodly steep that it requires a wide swing around Just Like New Falls to get above it. There is some downfall on this one, but we were running out of time since the snow was coming down. forcing a quick stop and a hasty return to the car. Getting from Just Like New Falls to this one was the steepest part of the hike, which is saying something. When you get to this waterfall you are very close to the AT. You have to look at the land, and determine a route. The GPS of the falls is listed, but this hike ain’t about a dot on a map, it’s finding a way to that dot without felling off a cliff. Again, knowing what I know now, I would take an entirely different approach to this creek. When I make my return, I will update these pages if there is a safer way to tackle this one. You can read about New Falls here.
