Van Patton Shoals is a series of rapids and cascades on the Enoree River near Woodruff SC. On the left side of the road, there is a pullout before the bridge over the river if you’re heading toward Spartanburg. From the pullout, a trail heads down to the river. Much of the riverbed is exposed rock due to the low water flow, allowing the shoals to be explored. The Enoree River isn’t safe for drinking, and signs are posted about the water. The GSP for the shoals is upstream of the SC418 bridge, but the shoals extend on both sides the bridge.
