Where to park: There is a place to park on the southbound side of US178 at GPS 35.03266, -82.80409.

The hike: There really is no reason to hike to this waterfall. The first time I hiked down this way was after a lot of rain, and it looked good. On this visit, not so much, but it is really high up on the creek. The waterfall got it’s name from my dog Axel digging up a mandible near the waterfall. Back to the hike. Head down the bank in a southeasterly direction on the remains of an old road. The road will peter out almost immediately, but just stay on the same heading until reaching the creek and use that as a guide to get you to the falls. Like I said, no reason to hike to this one unless there has been a ton of rain and you’ve done everything else in the area and just feel the need to get dirty.
