Where to park: On my visit, I parked roadside on SC107 very close to the Cherry Hill Recreation Area close to where the Winding Stairs Trailhead is located. The GPS is at: 34.94124, -83.08993.
The hike: The Winding Stairs Trail goes to the left and passes through the Cherry Hill Recreation Area, and a spur trail goes to the right. You can take either one since they join up after 0.25 miles. At 0.9 miles. the trail will make a sharp switchback to the left. In a quarter of a mile, the trail will make a switchback to the right, but don’t take it. A small trail leaves from the apex of the switchback. This trail leads down the bank to a river right view of the falls.
If you want to continue on to Little Miuka Falls, return to the trail and continue through the switchback. The trail will make two more lefthand switchbacks and two more to the right. When you get to the second righthand switchback after visiting Miuka Falls (the third overall), take the spur trail from the outside of the bend and descend to the creek. The spur trail to Little Miuka Falls is two miles from the trailhead. If you want to decide on visiting, you can check out a picture Little Miuka Falls. It’s not much.
