Blue Wall Falls is locvated in the Blue Wall Preserve in upstate SC. There are two waterfalls in the preserve, Blue Wall and Lower Blue Wall Falls. The upper one is a nice walk in the park. Accessing the lower one isn’t as pleasant.
The trailhead: The trailhead parking is in a dirt parking area on Pennell Road, which is just off Dug Hall Road. The GPS location is 35.18448, -82.24822.
The hike: The hike starts by heading past the gate and following Pennell Road. At 0.2 of a mile, leave the road on the Palmetto Trail – Blue Wall Passage. Another trail intersects from the right 0.6 into the hike. Keep left to stay on the Palmetto Trail. The point where you would need to leave the trail to visit Lower Blue Wall Falls is less than 0.1 from this junction. I don’t have a good reference point other than to say it was obviously a good spot to get down to the creek. Remaining on the trail, you will pass the first of two lakes. At 1.1 miles you will come to a T junction. This is a loop trail around the upper lake. Make a right and the waterfall is 0.1 of a mile further.
It’s a low flow creek so you want to go after some rain. I happened to go when it was raining.
