Hike Directions: You’re going to have to hike the Upper Whitewater River downstream from the upper access off Heady Mountain Road. It begins with a bushwhack on the river right side of the Whitewater River. There are no good indicators of when to head to the river other than you will hear Nasty Falls on your left. Make sure to come out on the exposed rock at the top of the falls. You can climb down the falls and make your way along the rock and through the river to the top of Entrance Falls. If the water is high this is not going to happen but the way to Sculpted Falls is to walk beside the river to the rock outcrop above Entrance Falls.
One slip and you’re going to get swept down Entrance Falls into the canyon and likely get pretty tore up or worse. From the rock outcrop a trail goes up the side of the canyon and follows it downstream a short distance. The best view of Sculpted Falls, unless you brought some repelling gear is from a 30 foot high rock platform. This is not a place to take chances and simply reaching the rock platform will offer several opportunities to test you nerves. This is one of the more unnerving places I’ve been.
That’s about as much info as I can give. If you undertake this hike, here is what you will see.
