McGilliard Falls is a 30 foot high waterfall in Valdese. The falls is within McGilliard Falls Park. There is a viewing platform that is easy to reach. There is a scramble down to actually see the falls that is more challenging. I happened to be there during a flood so it was worth heading down to take a picture. You can use the waterfall GPS or McGilliard Falls Park to search directions. The signs indicate you need to stay on the deck, however they do not say you can’t head down for a better look. At least they didn’t in 2019.
