Cane Creek Falls is the highlight of this trek. The four waterfalls on the way make for nice photo subjects, but there is no mistaking why you made this hike. A lot of this one is off-trail, but I can get you started. Some of it you will have to figure out on your own. The hike begins at the end of Mill Creek Road at this point 34.99149, -82.87557. Walk past the gate on Mill Creek Road and pass Prince Cove Road. The road will come to a fork just after Prince Cove Road. Mill Creek Road goes left and straight, You want the road that goes to the right. Enjoy it while you can. It ends in 0.25 of a mile. There was a rough path from this point but it wasn’t always easy to follow. You wil cross one small unnamed trib before coming to Cane Creek, which you will follow upstream. It was a warm enough day that we were in the creek or right next to it. We never got far away. You won’t see much for the first mile and a half, but when the creek forks, and you continue up Cane Creek, you will start seeing the falls. From the split in the creek to Cane Creek Falls is 0.45 miles. So you’ll get 5 waterfalls in under half a mile. Make sure you follow the correct creek at the split. Can’t give you too much more about the bushwhack portion but there is a trail for a good bit of it. At least there was in 2019.
