Watauge Falls is a roadside cascade on the Watauga River. It is not technically a waterfall but the geology of the area is kind of neat. You can see it roadside from US321 0.2 miles West of where Laurel Creek Road intersects. There is a large pull-off on the right side of the road. You don’t have to climb down the steep hillside but you can if you want.
