She Falls Falls is part of a continuous string of waterfalls and drops on Lower Pond Creek, downstream of Lake Coffee. There are so many photo opportunities at the various drops that I could have spent the day shooting this one section of creek. The main attraction was a 20 foot slide that is the official She Falls Falls. There are smaller falls above and below.

The trailhead is at the Lake Coffee Recreation Area on Beech Mountain. When you turn off of Lakeledge Road onto the access road you will see the lake on your left and a line of parking spaces. Continue onto the gravel road heading down the grade to a large parking area at the trailhead. The hike starts past the kiosk.

The hike immediately crosses the creek on a footbridge and turns to follow it downstream. The upper section of the trail is rough in places and to get to the falls there is a washed out section where you will have to use a rope to get around. Other than the somewhat sketchy washed out section, the hike wasn’t bad. If the water had been lower I probably would have walked along the creek but it was up and the rocks were covered in ice, forcing me to stay on the trail. Use your best judgment when you get to the washed out section. Getting a decent view of the falls isn’t going to be easy but there is a path that heads down to the base.
