Hike Directions: You’re going to have to hike Bonas Defeat to get to it. There is no other way to view this waterfall. This is not a hike to undertake lightly. There is no trail. The course upstream is in a riverbed filled with enormous boulders and deep holes. Taken as a whole it is one of the most amazing places in Western NC. It is also one of the most dangerous for anyone unprepared for the challenges of this hike. If you venture in, this will be the first waterfall you encounter on the hike if you’re heading upstream. I found the easiest way past this one was to head up the sloping rock on river left. It was the easiest way but not easy. Nothing in Bonas was easy.
