Where to park: The trailhead parking is along the side of Green River Cove Road at 35.27451, -82.30505. This is right after Green River Cove Road crosses the Green River. The Wilderness Cove Campground is on the other side of the river from the parking area. I’m not sure how access is after Helene.
The hike: The hike starts across the road on the Green River Cove Trail, which will climb steeply at first as he gets away from the road. Just under 0.25 of a mile from the trailhead, the Bluff Trail comes in on the right. Turn here and ascend steeply on the Bluff Trail for the next mile until it reaches Stair Step Branch, which it crosses at the top of the falls. There is a steep path down to the base of the falls not too far from the creek crossing. It’s slick getting down to the base, but worth it.
