Mannis Branch Falls is visible roadside from a parking area on the side of Little River Gorge Road, located at 35.66324, -83.62055. You will have to walk along the parking area, peering through the trees to see it in the wintertime. In the summer, it’s unlikely you’ll see it, but if there’s no traffic on Little River Gorge Road, you’ll hear it. The waterfall is jammed back in there a ways. It really is too bad that it requires a sketchy river crossing to see it up close, because it is one of the sexiest waterfalls in the Smokies. You will need a Smokies parking pass.
*Note: You can cross Little River to get closer to the falls, but I’m not really able to tell you exactly where to cross. I can share two things. The rocks are insanely slick, just like the ones at Meigs Falls. The water is also deep, like waist-deep in spots, and the flow wasn’t that high on my visit. There is a trail that climbs the bank once you get across. It is just below where Mannis Branch meets Little River.
