Where to park: Parking is roadside on Cascade Lake Road, a few feet past a gated road if you’re heading upstream. The GPS location is: 35.20194, -82.64319.
The hike: The hike leaves from the upper end of the pullout, heading downhill. There was an easy-to-follow path that got steep and sketchy when it got closer to the creek, coming out not too far from the huge rock that overhangs the creek. You can see the falls from the rock, but the view is better from creek level. Better, not great. There are several trees lying on the falls, limiting the view. It was probably nice before the downfall arrived. I had to cross to river left to get a decent shot, and it required getting my feet wet.
