Where to park: Parking is roadside on Darnell Creek Road. There is room for one car by the gate: 34.95849, -83.35271. Just past the trailhead, as the road bends to the right, there is room on the outside of the turn to park
The hike: The hike follows the Darnell Creek Horse Trail just beyond the gate to an almost immediate crossing of Hoojah Branch before it starts to climb alongside Darnell Creek. At 0.9 miles, a trail comes in on the right. Stay straight, and about 0.5 miles later, you will see Sky Falls off to the left. I understand this was not always the name of this waterfall on Thomas Creek, but it was the one on the sign, nailed to a tree at the overlook. In another 0.3 miles, look for an overgrown trail on the left, which will lead down to Ramey Creek Falls. It wasn’t hard to find, but I was with someone who had been there before. It’s only about 0.1 miles from where you leave the Darnell Creek Horse Trail.
