Lamance Falls is a 35 foot waterfall on Lamance Creek, near the 2900 foot elevation. This is the same creek as Lemon Falls, which is at the 2650 elevation. The creek only drops 250 feet over the nearly 3 miles between the two waterfalls, which is next to nothing.
Where to park: Parking is along Macedonia Church Road. There is a dirt pulloff between the parking lot for the Macedonia Church, and the gravel road leading to the falls. We parked at 35.20368, -82.89495.
The hike: Follow the gravel road heading into the woods. This first part is within Pisgah Forest, but along the way, the road does cross into private property, which is demarked by purple stripes on trees bordering the right side of the road. It will dip back into Pisgah for a brief time, and cross another section of private property until reentering Pisgah and the path down to the base. As best we could tell from our maps, and what we were told, the waterfall was within Pisgah Forest. If this is not the case, I will update this page accordingly.
