Lower Limberpole Falls is a 35 foot tall angled slide that is a roadside waterfall. It is besides SC130, but to get to the base, you have to take a roundabout way due to the steep terrain. if you want to combine this with the other waterfalls close by, see the hike for Rock Jaw Falls.

Where to park: The parking will be roadside on SC130. There is a pullout on the southbound side of the road at 34.99369, -83.02658.

The hike: The hike starts on SC130, heading uphill. Around 0.1 from the pullout, drop off the side of the road and parallel it for a short time before heading to the right. For reference, I left the road at 34.99463 -83.02583 and paralleled the creek, which you can hear but not see. The bank is really steep close to the road, so you’ll have to pick a spot you’re comfortable with to make your descent to the creek. The one problem you will encounter is by the time you get to a point where it’s not very steep, there is a ton of large downfall to contend with. Leaves you with the choice of really steep or really slow going. On my way in, I climbed over all the crap. On the way out, I went up the embankment. The bushwhack isn’t even 0.2 of a mile to the falls. I didn’t get to a good vantage since it was getting late, and I wasn’t eager to get wet. My picture is from a perch on river right. I’ll get back this way in the summer for a better shot.
