From Hilliard Falls, follow the spur back to the Foothills Trail and make a left. Follow the Foothills Trail for around 0.2 of a mile to a foot-log bridge over a small creek. The waterfall is on this creek. Once you cross the bridge, look for the best place to make a left into the woods. Near the trail the woods are pretty open once you get away from the creek. It is a not-too-difficult 0.1 of a mile bushwhack to the falls, but it is steep near the waterfall, which you will approach from below once you hear it. The waterfall is about 20-feet high with most of that being a sloped rock section above the drop.

When you’re done, you have two choices. You can bushwhack back to the Foothills Trail and reverse the hike or, you can do what I did and scale the bank on river left. It’s about thirty feet of climbing a steep embankment to reach Auger Hole Road. Once there, make a left and hike the road back to the junction with the Foothills trail and then into SC where you parked. The lollipop loop hike came to 4.9 miles total.
