Merry Falls is close enough to DuPont State Forest that I’m listing it with the rest of the falls in DuPont. Most of the drive once you turn off of US64 is through DuPont. The waterfall is roadside and can be viewed from the roadbed but there is a scramble trail to get to the base for a frontal view. The waterfall is on privately owned property but there are no signs posted so approach this waterfall however you feel best. I made the descent to the creek.

From US64 between Brevard and Hendersonville, turn onto Crab Creek Rd. If you’re coming from Brevard you’ll be making a right, from Hendersonville a left. Proceed down Crab Creek Rd 4.2 miles and make a right onto DuPont Road, which will change names to Station Road. Follow Station Road 5.3 to the intersection with Cascade Lake Road and make a right. Cascade Lake Road will turn to gravel shortly after the turn. Take Cascade Lake Road 1.8 miles. The waterfall will be on the left. If you drive past the waterfall you can pull off on the left and walk back up the road to the trail to the base.

You can get a decent shot of this one from the road but the effort to get down to the base is worth it to get a much better shot.
