The Waterfall on Devil’s Fork Creek is immediately downstrem of Tankersley Lake 1.7 miles from the intersection of River Falls Road and SC11. River Falls Road is the access road to Jones Gap State Park in South Carolina. The waterfall is close to the quartet of falls on Wildcat Branch in the Mountain Bridge Wilderness Area.
The view this roadside waterfall coming from Greenville, follow US276 past the merger with SC11 for roughly half a mile to the F-Mart. Make a right onto River Falls Rd, following the signs for Jones Gap State Park. Coming from North Carolina, follow SC11/US276 for 5.8 miles after the two road come together near Wildcat Branch Falls. Make a left at the F-Mart onto River Falls Road. Stay on River Falls Road for 1.7 miles and you will see the falls on the right. There is a gated road on the left where you can park. Do not block the gate, which is marked as private property. You can walk back the short distance to take your pictures. There is a steep scramble path down toward creek level but I didn’t see the point. The waterfall marks the point where Devil’s Fork Creek empties into the Middle Saluda River.
